LOCATING FORGOTTEN OLD GRAVE SITES

Join us at the Historical Society Campus in the Archives Library for a PowerPoint presentation illustrating how Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) has been used to locate the graveyard of French & Indian War soldiers in Stockton Springs, as well as the gravesite of Samuel Webb, a Revolutionary War Veteran buried in Stonington.  A proposal outlining use of a GPR survey of the Old Settlers Cemetery in Deer Isle will also be discussed, along with the volunteer resources needed to successfully complete this exploration.  If there is interest, following the presentation, Dr. Yankielun will give a brief demonstration of the equipment on the lawn at the Historical.
